I am currently reading a police report filed by the Malaysian Shia against a forum/seminar/newspaper. The following is the complaint (the original was all in capital letters)
On 27 march 2011 at 10.45 am whilst i was in sri gombak, i read the sinar harian newspaper Dated 26 march 2011. There was an advertisement in the sinar harian newspaper on page Kl3. The advertisement was entitled “are they really apostate: debate or arrest?”. In Order to ascertain the content of the forum i contacted the program secretariat Ahmad yani, cellphone no 019-3911313, at 10.56 am. He informed me that the program of the Series of discourses will touch on the apostate teachings of shiism. According to him, dr Mohd. Asri zainal abidin will touch on the shia issue. He also notified me that dr mohd. Asri zainal abidin will touch on the issue of legal enforcement against shia Teachings.
Therefore i felt that the promotion of the program which will be held on 31 March 2011 at auditorium kumpulan media karangkraf, l0t 2, jalan sepana 15/3, off persiaran Selangor, section 15, shah alam, may threaten the peace and unity of the muslim polity in Malaysia which is at this time harmonious, secure and calm in our country malaysia. A Provocative program like this should not be promoted. I refer to a statement made by Senator dato’ seri jamil khir bin baharom, minister at the prime minister’s department in a House of commons debate recently which stated that the adherents of the shia school May practice shia teachings. Therefore based on this information i feel that this Provocation should not happen and it contradicts what was said in parliament by The minister. My intention in making this report is my grievance against the Organizer of the program which is sinar harian in conjunction with i magazine as Well as the panelist dr mohd. Asri zainal abidin who was stated by the organizer’s Secretariat will be touching on the shia issue. Therefore i request that the police Conduct an investigation.
