The enemy of Shia accused him as the founder of Shiaism. He is said to be a Jew from Yemen. And you know how much Muslims like to blame Jews for everything.
it is the historical fact that there was a group of people who used to do ghulu in praise of of hazrat ali (ra) so question arise who misled the people of that time ,may be his name was not ibn saba ,but we can not deny the existance of such personality. Shī‘a scholars such as Abu Muhammad al-Hasan bin Musa al-Nubakhti,[15] Abu Amr bin Abdul Aziz al-Kash-shi,[16] Al-Hasan bin Ali al-Hilly,[17] al-Astra Abadi,[18]Al-Sadooq,[19] and Al-Nawbakhty.[20] gave the stories and narrations of Ibn Saba.
